Welcome to the Ann Terry Project’s Website

The Ann Terry Project is sponsored by the Ann Terry Society. The Society helps women living in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality enter the paid workforce by providing career development services that are women centered and community based.

The Not-for-Profit Society is made up of volunteers from our community who are committed to achieving equality for women and ensuring that women are given the opportunity to reach their full potential through personal growth, education, skills development, and employment. The Society sponsors several employment projects for women including The Ann Terry Women’s Employment Project (The Ann Terry Project). The Ann Terry Project, named in honour of the late Ann Terry Mac Lellan, a renowned broadcaster and Devco official, has been in operation since January of 1986. Read More.

TESTIMONIALS

When I lost my job after 17 years because my position became redundant, The Ann Terry Project helped me to develop my job goals and work on a plan to get there. My plan included returning to school for two years, but now I am working full time doing the work I want to do.

OUR LOCATION The location of the office has changed over the years as has the faces of the staff who provide the services and the dedicated volunteers who continue to sponsor this Project for women in our community. What doesn’t change is the Ann Terry Society’s commitment to provide specialized women centered career development and counselling services for women.
